Terra Elements Aloe Vera Powder

The Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) used for this product comes from the Affodillaceae family. The plants originally came from Arabia or Sudan. Nowadays the plants grow worldwide.

The gray-green leaves that the plant has consist of three layers:

• Leaves
• Aloin
• Pulp

Leaves:

• Waxy and leathery
• Offer protection against evaporation and the sun

Aloin:

• The intermediate layer - between the leaf and pulp
• Stores bitter, yellowish juice

Pulp:

• Mucilaginous, transparent gel
• The plant creates a water supply in its interior, which means that it can do without water for months. This is how the aloe vera gel is created. The gel also seals the plants' wounds so that they can heal faster.

Processing:

• The leaves are dried and are then gently ground into powder.

Tips:

• Can be used to make beauty products (hair and face masks).
• Also suitable as an addition in various liquids or sprinkled over food
• For a refreshing detox smoothie, simply stir the aloe vera into your original smoothie.
