Description
Panax ginseng has been used in medicine, especially in China and Korea, for several thousand years. The root is mainly used because it contains a lot of valuable ingredients. It symbolically represents strength, health and life. The fleshy, red-brown root prefers growing in colder climates. The inflorescence is called umbel. Before ripening, the plant bears white-greenish flowers, after that it bears red drupes. Traditionally, the harvest in Korea takes place in autumn.
