Spirulina Powder, "the blue-green star"

Like Chlorella, Spirulina is a single-cell green algae and is grown in outdoor pools under warm sunlight on a secluded island in the South China Sea. It has been well researched as a true whole food because of its comprehensive nutritional profile, and ability to synthesise Vitamin B12 without being of animal origin.

Direction of use: Up to 10 g per day, and according to taste. Add to smoothies, milkshakes, warm drinks, energy bars, biscuits, brownies.

Daily Intake: 1-3 tsp per day. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light.

Recipe Idea:

  • 1 tsp of Spirulina powder
  • 1/8 grape juice or beetroot juice
  • 1/8 water

Blend ingredients and enjoy as a breakfast drink. Makes 250 ml.
